BEU organizes event "COP29 HUB"

"COP29 HUB" event dedicated to the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, hosted by Azerbaijan, has been held at the Baku Engineering University (BEU) under the joint organization of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​and the "English zone" club of the Student Trade Union.

A panel session was organized with the participation of local and foreign students who acted as speakers in the role of symbolic officials of different countries on the environmental topic in the event attended by the university administration, academic staff.

First, BEU vice-rector for international relations Atrabe Gul, head of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​Narmina Aliyeva, as well as the head of the project, senior lecturer of the department Sevda Huseynova spoke. The importance of COP29, which will be held in our country, was mentioned in the speeches. At the same time, it was emphasized that the main purpose of organizing the "COP29 HUB" event in such an interesting format is to shape the environmental thinking of students, to educate them about the green world strategy of all the countries of the planet, and to develop their English language skills.

In the panels, the students who spoke as official officials of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Pakistan, England, America and the African country Chad drew attention to the ecological situation of their countries, the natural phenomena they face as a result of climate change, the serious ecological consequences that have arisen, as well as the measures taken in the direction of environmental protection. delivered.

Later, a role-play where young people with various international "representative" statuses at COP29 called for a joint fight against climate change (Save the planet), English terms related to the environment between the "Green English", "Eco innovators" and "Earth defenders" teams word competition was shown. The song "This is our world", performed by students, was received with interest at the event.

At the end, certificates were presented to the students who were active in the event.
