Tahira Baylarova, a 3rd year student of the “Electronics Engineering” specialty of the dual degree program (BEU-INHA DDP) implemented between Baku Engineering University and INHA University of the Republic of South Korea, achieved great success in the selection round of the World Robot Olympiad for Azerbaijan.
T.Baylarova won 1st place as a member of the DeepSense team competing in the “Future Innovator-Senior” category at the Olympiad organized by the Azerbaijani Ministries of Youth and Sports, Digital Development and Transport, the World Robot Olympiad Association and the Azerbaijan Robotics Engineering Academy (AREA).
The project presented by the team is aimed at preventing technical malfunctions and energy losses caused by turbines over time in hydroelectric power plants. A special sensor device developed for this purpose monitors the condition of the turbines in real time and transmits the data to specialists. At this time, analysis is performed using artificial intelligence algorithms and predictions regarding possible malfunctions are presented. Thus, the project serves to increase energy efficiency and ensure safety.
At the Olympics, teenagers and young people competed in 4 categories - “Robomission”, “Robosports”, “Future innovators”, “Future engineers”.
DeepSense, which is among the winners, will represent our country at the XXII World Robot Olympiad to be held in Singapore on November 26-28 of this year.
