Jungho Kim, Head of the Climate Crisis Response Project Group of Inha University of the Republic of Korea, has visited Baku Engineering University (BEU).
Meeting with the guest, Rector Yagub Piriyev emphasized that the successful implementation of the dual degree program (BEU-INHA DDP) between the two universities has further strengthened the relations, touching upon the prospects of future cooperation. The Rector noted that the presentation of a concrete action plan in line with the partnership agreement signed between BEU and the Project Group last year on responding to the global climate crisis is a positive development, believing that effective cooperation would yield excellent results.
Expressing his satisfaction at being at BEU again, Project Group Head Jungho Kim provided detailed information on the joint steps to be taken towards global climate change and other projects to be implemented.
Later, Jungho Kim, Head of the Climate Crisis Response Project Group, and BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev signed an agreement on “Establishing Cooperation to Respond to the Global Climate Crisis”.
According to the document, in response to the global climate crisis, local educational programs, including the exchange of students and faculty, joint planning and support of their internship program will be implemented to use convergent skills.
The meeting held extensive discussions on specific areas of the project to be implemented within the framework of cooperation with BEU. It was noted that such a project is being implemented in about 10 countries. Moreover, important details were agreed on the students and faculty of Inha who will be involved in internship programs and the Summer School at BEU, and issues related to the visit of an appropriate number of BEU students to South Korea were also reviewed.
The meeting ended with an exchange of views on other areas of future cooperation.
