Some of the projects will be published as a scientific article for the first time
Under the arrangement of Student Scientific Society(SSS) of Baku Engineenering University(BEU), “Winter Science Festival” has been held. The festival aims to reveal young talents, stimulate them, and create interest among students in science.
A number of projects, including "Fighting floods and forest fires", "Low-frequency electromagnetic machines", "Alpha generator for calming the human brain", " Improvement of memory processes by intranasal delivery of curcumin in High Emotional Stresses", "Palimpsest Collage", "Overton Window" were demonstarted at the Festival.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Professor Havar Mammadov, the Rector of BEU, got acquainted with the projects presented on the stands. Noting that there were interesting projects, the rector gave recommendations to youth in this area and wished them success in their activities.
At the end of the festival the winning teams were awarded certificates and prizes. Hence, according to the assessment of the jury, the projects of BEU students held the first place in economics category. Moreover, BEU students’ projects took I place, the second place-the projects of Sumgait State University students , the third place- the projects of BEU students in engineering category. In pedagogical category, the projects of the students of Azerbaijan Medical University, Azerbaijan Technical University and BEU won the first three places in pedagogical category, accordingly.
At the festival, which was attended by 23 secondary schools from Baku, Sumgait and Absheron, Saray school No.23, Sumgait school No.28, Baku European Lyceum, Educational Complex 132-134, Khirdalan and Mehdiabad students won the first place, while Zirva Lyceum, Technical- natural sciences lyceum, Baku European Lyceum, Sumgait and Khirdalan students the 2nd, and Technical- natural sciences lyceum, Sumgait, Jeyranbatan and Khirdalan students the 3rd.
The festival was attended by the staff of the Absheron District Executive Power and the Education Department of Absheron District and the directors of the participating schools.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the event, the Head of the Mathematics and Informatics Department at BEU, assoc.prof. Humbat Aliyev noted that the festival became a tradition.
Senior lecturer of the Mathematics and Informatics Department Bahman Mammadov thanked all the festival participants, and added that some of these projects would be published as a scientific article for the first time.
Head of the Education Department of Absheron District Nazila Mammadova congratulated the winners and wished them success. She expressed her confidence that the festival played a significant role in the lives of both students. N. Mammadova thanked the University management for creating an opportunity for schoolchildren to the participation in such a festival.
