BEU hosts scientific seminar on "History from near and far: peak of Ahmad Javad’s creativity"

Baku Engineering University (BEU) has hosted a scientific seminar dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of Ahmad Javad, a prominent representative of Azerbaijani literature, a great poet, a well-known educator and public figure, on "History from near and far: the peak of Ahmad Javad's creativity".

First, the National Anthem was played at the seminar. Reminding that on April 20, 2022, President Ilham Aliyev signed the Order "On the celebration of the 130th anniversary of Ahmad Javad, the head of the Azerbaijani language and pedagogy department of the Education Faculty Tarana Hajiyeva drew attention to the work done by the state in the direction of researching the heritage of people who had irreplaceable services in the literary history of our nation. In her speech, T. Hajiyeva gave detailed information about the life path and creativity of ar Ahmet Javad, as well as his multifaceted activities as a socio-political, literary, pedagogic, and translator. The head of the department emphasized that approving ”March of Azerbaijan”, created by prominent composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli and poet Ahmad Javad, as the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and declaring it a state symbol were the peak of his brilliant creativity.

Later, Ulvi Babayev, senior lecturer of the department of Azerbaijani language and pedagogy, delivered a scientific report on "History from near and far: the peak of Ahmad Javad's creativity". Noting that Ahmad Javad's personality was superior to his literary identity, the speaker pointed out that Ahmad Javad was recognized in the literary environment and in the general public as the most brilliant poet of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, he and his family members were subjected to great torture as a victim of repression, but despite this, he maintained his loyalty to the ideas of national independence until the end of his life.

After the report, Akif Huseynov, professor of the Department of Azerbaijani language and pedagogy, and others expressed their views on the life, creativity and activity of the prominent personality Ahmad Javad. In the speeches, it was said that Ahmad Javad was always at the hot spots of social and political events, and became a victim of Soviet totalitarianism by being subjected to severe repressions in the 1930s among the bright personalities of the time.

The seminar ended with answering students' questions about the topic.
