Delivering an opening speech at the event attended by a number of universities from both countries, BEU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Hamzaga Orujov welcomed the participants, stating that the conference aims to strengthen international cooperation in the rapidly developing field of engineering and technology, as well as to ensure the discussion of innovative approaches and modern technological achievements. Moreover, he stressed his confidence that the conference would create a basis for important scientific discussions, new collaborations and innovative initiatives, and contribute to the formation of new views on the engineering of the future.
Later, Sirnak University Rector Abdurrahim Alkish, who joined the conference online, emphasized that in the modern world, digitalization and artificial intelligence concepts reshaped engineering concepts, and universities were taking an active role in the process of learning and applying new technologies. He expressed his belief that great work would be done in biomedical, biotechnology, space, artificial intelligence, and environmental engineering, adding that the world's leading universities were already preparing themselves for this, and important work was also ahead of Azerbaijani and Turkish higher education institutions.
Mustafa Latif Emek, head of the IKSAD Institute, drew attention to the fact that the institution is preparing academic projects with more than 300 universities in 43 countries and organizing scientific events. It was also said that the expansion of cooperation betweenTürkiye and Azerbaijan in the fields of science and education is a source of pride, and expressing his confidence that scientific exchange and joint efforts on the international platform would contribute to great scientific achievements.
