Baku Engineering University has hosted a mini football tournament among first-year students in connection with November 8 – Victory Day. Sport Department and Student Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) have jointly organized the competition.  

The tournament aims to arrange leisure time activities of students efficiently, as well as to train football players who would represent BEU in interuniversity football competitions in the future.

Round-robin tournament with 4 groups and 4 teams in each continued for a month. According to the results of the final game, the first place was taken by the " Ayaks" team, while the 2nd place by "Qarabag", and the 3rd place by "Arsenal".

The winning teams were awarded football uniforms and a certificate of honor by STUC.

Rauf Aliyev, teacher-coach of BMU's Sports Department, refereed the competitions. Fikret Hasanov and Hasan Abbasov, who played well in the tournament, were included in the university football team.
