Baku Engineering University (BEU) is hosting a master class for students organized by the Department of Logistics and Transport of the Faculty of Engineering, Valeriy Virkovski, the Board member and coordinator of the International Technology Consortium for Digitalization of Supply Chains (SCDC).
The department's teachers are also participating in the master class held in English on the topic of "Digital Corridors".
On the first day of the master class, which will last until March 7, modern practices and approaches in the digitalization of the transport and logistics sector (NLS) were widely discussed.
V. Virkovski highlighted the main tasks in the preparation of a national strategy for the digitalization of the NLS and its feasibility study, analysis of gaps in the NLS and the country's transport modality based on the goal indicator approach, complex planning of strategic activities, creation of a national digital platform and electronic logistics systems, preparation of a roadmap for the establishment of a national electronic logistics system with measures envisaged at the main stages of the project.
Moreover, extensive information was provided on technical solutions for cross-border data exchange between national segments of the International Telecommunication Union - data transmitters, analysis of international DTC projects in which the Republic of Azerbaijan participates, the World Bank's Trans-Caspian International Transport Route project, the International North-South Transport Corridor, the Western branch, the Zangezur corridor, etc., and the issues facing Azerbaijan in this area were highlighted.
