Baku Engineering University (BEU) has organized an information event on the Erasmus+ project "Establishment of the Rectors' Conference in Azerbaijan" (ECAR).
The meeting was dedicated to the discussion of the visit to "EFMD Global" organization located in Brussels, the capital of Belgium on December 12-17 of last year within the framework of the project and the results of the training held during this visit.
At the event, Narmin Alakbarova, the senior specialist of BEU Department of International Relations and Project Management, provided detailed information about the mentioned project. Sharing with the participants the necessary information about the foreign and local partners of the project financed by the European Commission, the senior specialist spoke about the activities of the committees included in the Rectors' Conference in Azerbaijan, and reminded that BEU Vice-Rector, PhD. in Economics Elchin Suleymanov was elected as the chairman of the Committee on Scientific Affairs.
Later, BEU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, professor Hamzagha Orujov and Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Bayram Huseynzada, who participated in the training in Brussels, took the floor.
Vice-Rector Hamzagha Orujov noted that the training was aimed at strengthening the potential in the internationalization of higher education. Within the framework of the training, issues of quality assurance and internationalization, internationalization of research and teaching, as well as development of internationalization strategies were discussed in detail by "EFMD Global" and other European partners. Emphasizing that attention was paid to the existence of serious relations between accreditation and internationalization, Hamzagha Orujov mentioned the benefits that the project could bring to the global and national education system in general.
Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Bayram Huseynzada shared the main theses discussed in the training with the participants, stressing the importance of the " Establishment of the Rectors' Conference in Azerbaijan " project. The Vice-Rector pointed out the need to form such an institution that took into account the issues related to higher education and could support the solution of certain problems. Touching upon the existing differences between the education and teaching format of European and national universities, Bayram Huseynzada expressed his confidence that the project could make a significant contribution to our universities and would play a role in improving the quality of education in higher education institutions.
The event ended with answering the questions of the participants.
