An event called "InfoSEC-2024" has been held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) jointly organized by the Cyber Security Platform and the Association of CyberSecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan (AKTA).
Speaking at the event organized for students studying information security, information technology, and computer engineering majors of the university, acting dean of the Faculty of Information and Computer Technologies, Professor Vagif Gasimov noted that such events, which aim to support awareness and personnel training, play a major role in increasing the knowledge and skills of students. Moreover, he expressed his views on the topics that will be the subject of discussion at the event.
Expressing his satisfaction about holding the 3rd stage of "InfoSEC-2024" at BEU, the founding director of AKTA, Shahin Aliyev noted that young people studying in modern specialties will play a role in the national security of the country in the future, and in this regard, they should study information security perfectly.
Later, the head of AKTA's Research and Development Department, Tabriz Jafarov, said that the goal of the association is to educate young people and give them experience, and touched upon the important role of cyber clubs created in universities in the formation of students. He listed the positive effects of the free development environment in cyber clubs and urged students to take initiative. Speaking about the document "The Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan on information security and cybersecurity for 2023-2027", T. Jafarov took into account the duties imposed on civil institutions by this strategy and said the importance of educating all citizens about cybersecurity.
After the speeches, the training of experts in the field of cybersecurity for students began. In the training, the important points of the topic of cyber security were given extensive information and questions of interest to the students were answered.
