A meeting was held with the children of martyrs who were admitted to Baku Engineering University (BEU) in this year's entrance examinations - Rahim Jabrayilov (Computer Engineering) and Gulay Mirzayeva (Business Administration).

During the meeting, the cherished memory of all our martyrs was respectfully commemorated.

Emphasizing that the meeting with the children of martyrs was held on the eve of the 5th anniversary of the Patriotic War, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev stated that our native lands, which had been occupied by Armenian armed forces for nearly 30 years, were liberated under the leadership of President, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, through his decisive decisions, Azerbaijan's strong military potential, and the courage of our soldiers and officers, and that a magnificent Victory was achieved at the cost of the blood and lives of our martyrs and veterans. He noted that this Victory will be the eternal pride of our people, who united like an iron fist around their Leader. Our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the complete restoration of Azerbaijan's sovereignty and our soldiers who became veterans will never be forgotten.

Drawing attention to the work done by our state for the social protection of martyr families and our veterans, and the privileges granted in the field of education, the rector also stated that constant attention is paid to the education and social problems of their children at the university, and each one is approached with respect and care. Yagub Piriyev highlighted the quality education at BEU and the extensive opportunities created for the professional development of young people, calling on students to study well in their admitted specialties and actively participate in university life, wishing them success.  

The mothers of the children of martyrs who participated in the meeting emphasized the state's attention and care toward them. They also expressed their gratitude for such a meeting and sincere conversation. 

The rector gave instructions to relevant persons to constantly pay attention to students who are members of martyr families during their education period.

It should be noted that Rahim Jabrayilov's father, Senior Sergeant Subhan Jabrayilov, participated in the liberation of Sugovushan, Fuzuli, Hadrut, Jabrayil, Zangilan, and Gubadli during the Patriotic War and was martyred in fierce battles for Gubadli. Based on President Ilham Aliyev's decree, he was posthumously awarded the title "Hero of the Patriotic War" and the medal "For the Motherland."

Gulay Mirzayeva's father, extended military serviceman Elchin Mirzayev, heroically perished in battles in the Tartar-Aghdara-Sugovushan direction. After his death, he was awarded the medals "For the Motherland," "For the Liberation of Sugovushan," and "For the Liberation of Lachin" by the head of state.
