Baku Engineering University (BEU) has hosted an event dedicated to February 2 - Azerbaijan Youth Day jointly organized by the Absheron District Executive Power and Absheron-Khizi Regional Youth and Sports Department.

At the event titled “Azerbaijani Youth is Our Reliable Future”, the dear memory of our martyrs was first commemorated with a minute of silence, followed by the National Anthem.

Speaking at the event, BEU Vice-Rector for International Relations Atraba Gul noted that the founding history of Youth Day is connected with the name of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, calling it the great attention paid to youth and the high appreciation given to their role in society. Stating that the state youth policy successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev has left deep marks on the future development of Azerbaijani youth, the Vice-Rector emphasized that the greatest result of the work carried out on youth, especially the mobilization of their energy and capabilities for the defense of our national interests, is our magnificent Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. Atraba Gul spoke about the state programs implemented by the state for youth, their education, and social protection. Noting that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, headed by the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, is implementing important projects aimed at revealing the talents and skills of young people, the vice-rector emphasized that these projects are a reliable guarantee of the future of the growing generation.

Later, the chairman of NAP Absheron regional organization Abbas Aliyev highlighted that the active role of young people in all areas in our country today is a clear example of the successful implementation of youth policy. Moreover, he noted that the priority of national and state interests in youth policy played a decisive role in the Patriotic War. Adding that Azerbaijani youth live in a free, stable, and self-confident country, Abbas Aliyev touched upon the main tasks facing modern youth.

At the event, Deputy Head of the Absheron Regional Executive Power Gulnar Rahimova, Head of the Absheron-Khizi Regional Youth and Sports Department Telman Karimov, and Chairman of the BEU Student Trade Union Laman Sharifova spoke about the successfully implemented youth policy in our country and the achievements.

Afterwards, honorary certificates were presented to young people who distinguished themselves in education and social life.

The event ended with an artistic part organized by the Absheron-Khizi Regional Culture Department.
