Rector of Baku Engineering University (BEU), professor Havar Mammadov has met with the newly appointed rector of Inha University of South Korea Cho Myeong Woo.

Congratulating the guest on his new appointment, Rector Havar Mammadov emphasized that the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Korea under the leadership of the Presidents of the two countries was a source of satisfaction, and the field of education had a special share in the strengthening of active cooperation along with various directions.

Expressing his confidence that this meeting would contribute to the development of relations between higher education institutions, the Rector touched upon the dual degree program implemented within the framework of the "State Program for Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023", approved by the relevant Order of President Ilham Aliyev. Speaking about the positive results of the dual degree program successfully implemented jointly between BEU and Inha at the bachelor's degree since 2020, Havar Mammadov also drew attention to the statistics for the current academic year. Stating that 85.3% of those admitted to the dual degree program were applicants with high results, the Rector noted that 49 people scored more than 600 points, and 50 scored between 500-600 points.

Havar Mammadov gave detailed information to the guest about BEU, pointing out the possible opportunities for further deepening of cooperation with Inha University in the future.

Cho Myeong Woo expressed his gratitude for the sincere meeting and congratulations. The Rector highly appreciated the choice of talented and knowledgeable students for the dual degree program, as well as thanked BEU administration for their support in organizing the "Summer School" for students and teachers. Expressing his satisfaction with the successful results of the implementation of the program, the Rector of Inha University invited his Azerbaijani colleague to Korea.

During the meeting, as part of the program, the successful organization of the first training in the field of Information technologies in the Republic of Korea and the planning of training for 30 people in the next year in three other specialties (Civil engineering, Electrical engineering, Electronics engineering), 3 weeks of teaching by professors from Korea, as well as the "Summer school" held in Korea , preparations for one-year studies at Inha University for the first time next year, and etc. were discussed.  Furthermore, ideas were exchanged on the strengthening of cooperation relations between universities and further expansion of relations, joint steps and efforts taken in this direction.

At the end of the event, mutual gifts were presented and a photo was taken.
