Elshad Yunusov, senior lecturer of the Department of Chemistry and Biology of Baku Engineering University (BEU), and Hazi Gasimov, senior lecturer of the Department of Physics, have been awarded the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy by the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

E. Yunusov successfully defended his dissertation on the topic “Species composition and ecobiology of micromycetes distributed in soils exposed to salinization” to receive the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the specialty of “Mycology”, and H. Gasimov successfully defended his dissertation on the topic “Kinematic and statistical characteristics of periodic comets” to receive the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of Astronomy in the specialty of “Planetology”.
