An employee of Baku Engineering University (BEU) have participated in the 5th meeting of the informal working group of the Eastern Partnership (EP) Panel on Research and Innovations, which was held in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, as part of the Azerbaijani delegation.
In the meeting attended by Sevil Imanova, head of the Quality Assurance Department of BEU, the implementation of the research and innovation priorities of "Horizon 2020" in the EP countries, activities in important areas such as green and digital transitions, experience in participation in the "Horizon Europe" program and the role of scientific diaspora in these directions were discussed.
Speaking at the European Research Area (ERA) debates dedicated to international cooperation - values and principles, S. Imanova noted the cooperation of Azerbaijani universities with various advanced scientific and educational institutions of Europe, the active participation of several local higher education institutions, including BMU, in the Erasmus KA1 and KA2 projects together with about 15 European universities.
S.Imanova also said that the project on research development and innovation (RDI) in Azerbaijan's higher education system aims to develop the concepts of open innovation and open science, and pointed out that the dual diploma programs of ANAS, UFAZ and BEU are successful examples in the field of international cooperation.
At the event, in addition to the representatives of the EP countries, the officials of the Directorate General for Research and Innovation, Education and Culture of the European Commission (EC) and other relevant institutions, relevant organizations of the European member states (Belgium, Germany, France, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Romania) and TUBITAK from Turkey - specialists participated. The meeting was chaired by Ruta Zarnauskaite, head of the EC Directorate General for Research and Innovation.
Members of the Azerbaijani delegation spoke in separate sessions within the framework of the meeting.
