Yagub Piriyev, rector of Baku Engineering University (BEU), has met with Jeyhun Karamov, director of the State Agency for Vocational Education under the Ministry of Science and Education.

Drawing attention to the important steps taken in the direction of ensuring the further development of vocational education under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the rector said that vocational education is defined as a priority direction. Yagub Piriyev said that in addition to the capital Baku, vocational education institutions that meet new, modern requirements have been established in the regions as well. The rector said that in addition to higher education institutions, vocational schools also have relevant duties and responsibilities in personnel training for the main sectors of the national economy, and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between the relevant levels of education in order to ensure the goals set in this direction.

Emphasizing that BEU is ready for effective cooperation with the State Agency for Vocational Education, Yagub Piriyev said that the university with a modern material and technical base has all kinds of potential for expanding relations.

In his turn, speaking in detail about the state's care for vocational education, the director of the State Agency for Vocational Education Jeyhun Karamov highlighted the tasks ahead in the direction of improving the quality of vocational training. Stating that there is a need for scientific support in some professional fields, the director expressed his hope that cooperation with BEU would bring mutual benefits and noted the importance of combining efforts. Jeyhun Karamov also spoke about the priorities related to the creation of professional development programs, vocational education and training, and drew attention to their importance, especially in the context of higher technical vocational education that provides a sub-bachelor's degree.

Later, extensive discussions were held and suggestions were made regarding points of mutual interest in higher education and professional education specialties. Furthermore, cooperation on specific specialties, familiarization with vocational training centers of the Agency were considered.

After discussions, "Agreement on Cooperation" was signed between BEU and the State Agency for Vocational Education. The document aimed at establishing and developing cooperation in the field of training professional and engineering personnel covers many important directions.
