Sergey Khristolubov, regional director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of QS Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the world's most influential rating organization, has visited Baku Engineering University (BEU).
Yagub Piriyev, rector of BEU, talked about the steps taken for the development of the higher school in recent years, the innovations applied in scientific research and other fields.
Pointing out that special importance is given to international cooperation in order to further strengthen BEU scientific and research activities, as well as the successes achieved in this direction, the rector noted that the university achieved a positive result in the "QS Europe 2025" rating table, advancing 60 places compared to last year and rising to the 491st position. He mentioned that it is ranked 34th among West Asian universities. Yagub Piriyev expressed his confidence that the cooperation with QS agency will have a positive effect on the development of BEU and wider promotion of its activities at the international level.
Sergey Khristolubov gave information about the activities of the QS agency, which is known in the world in the field of higher education services, as well as the international quality mark "QS Stars". Noting that the potential of Azerbaijani universities is also analyzed in the QS rankings, the regional director added that they are progressing in various parameters. He also appreciated BEU recent successes in this direction and expressed his belief that this will be sustainable.
At the end of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between BEU and QS Quacquarelli Symonds.
The agreement includes important issues such as joining the "QS Stars" rating assessment, gaining access to the analytical database of the international agency's reputation surveys.
