BEU and CUFE discuss cooperation opportunities

An online meeting has been held between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) of the People's Republic of China.

BEU Vice-Rector for International Relations Atraba Gul noted that this meeting is of great importance in terms of strengthening mutual cooperation between higher education institutions of the two friendly countries. Stating that BEU sees strengthening international cooperation as one of the important pillars of development and considers the relations established with Chinese higher education institutions as an example of effective and strategic partnership, the Vice-Rector drew attention to a number of works implemented in this direction this year. Morevover, she added that initiatives such as exchange, joint research projects, creation of dual degree and other programs between BEU and CUFE would be beneficial for both parties.

Later, CUFE representatives provided information about the international relations of the university they represent, existing exchange programs and Chinese Government scholarships.

During other speeches, it was emphasized that the meeting would give impetus to cooperation in the fields of science and education between the two universities.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on possible areas of cooperation between the universities. The discussions focused on the possibilities of organizing student and teacher exchange programs, the development of joint scientific projects and publications, as well as the prospects for creating dual degree programs in the fields of business, economics, and social sciences.

At the end, the parties expressed their mutual interest in strengthening cooperation and agreed to prepare a draft memorandum.
