Baku Engineering University (BEU) has held an event on the "CAMPAIGNers" project implemented within the framework of the "Horizon 2020" program of the European Union (EU).
Assoc.prof. Isa Gasimov and senior lecturer Etibar Kahramanov spoke at the event, which was aimed at informing about the implementation status of the project in which BEU is also a partner.
Speakers noted that the main goal of the project is to direct the active participation of people in the direction of reducing the effects of climate change, along with BEU from Azerbaijan, ASOIU (Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University) is currently participating. Furthermore, universities, companies, municipalities, as well as public organizations of 14 foreign countries such as Turkey, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, France, Finland, Greece, Italy, Ireland, South Africa, Lithuania and Peru were involved in the project.
Speakers talked about the promotion of such activities as reducing the effects of climate change, including minimizing carbon emissions, saving water and energy, etc. Moreover, they gave detailed information about the functions of the software (mobile application) called "Climate Campaigners" developed for the realization of the goals, the results of the research they conducted on waste in Baku within the framework of the project, and sustainable environmental strategies for universities.
The event was completed with discussions about the project.
