The article entitled “Unhappy Moves? Assessing the Link Between Life (Dis)Satisfaction and Intention to Emigrate in Azerbaijan” co-authored by PhD. in Economics Khatai Aliyev and Ilkin Gasimov, employees of World Economy Department at Baku Engineering University(BEU), has been published in an international journal.

An article published in the SCOPUS indexed journal named “Economics and Sociology” examines the link between life (dis)satisfaction and intention to emigrate . Based on the results of a survey of 1,317 respondents, the article used the smallest squares method, as well as the Robust smallest squares method and other econometric calculation methods.

The results showed a high emigration intention, especially among young people and men. The article also found that increased happiness and age reduced the  intention to emigrate.

The study provided some recommendations for policy measures.
