The article “Symbols in literature. Intertextual journey to the story “The Nightingale and the Rose” by Oscar Wilde, one of the folk legends of Azerbaijan" authored by Atraba Gul, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at Baku Engineering University (BEU) has been published in an international magazine.
An article published in the journal Interdisciplinary language and literature studies discusses the motive coincidence of the English writer Oscar Wilde's tale "The Nightingale and the Rose" with ancient Azerbaijani legends. It analyzed the similarities and differences Azerbaijani folk legends and English written literature wih the method of intertextual communication and emphasized that the motive and the symbol were different, but at the same time complementary artistic and technical means. The article also provided an intertextual analysis based on symbols.
It should be noted that some time ago, A.Gul participated in the "2nd International Symposium on Language and Literature" organized online by "Osmaniye Korkut Ata University". Atraba Gul made a report at the symposium moderated by her.
