From the 2023/2024 academic year, personnel training will be conducted at the bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering at Baku Engineering University (BEU).
Materials science studies the relationship between the composition, properties, and structure of materials, as well as the creation and production methods of modern, new types of materials. This area is the center of modern construction, architecture and design, construction materials industry, metallurgy, etc. plays an important role in the formation and establishment of the scientific basis of their material provision.
Modern material scientists and technologists are constantly doing important work in the direction of creating and applying new materials and technologies to satisfy the ever-increasing demand and rapidly changing tastes of people in various industries. In addition to traditional materials, the composite materials industry, nano- and biotechnologies, "smart" materials industry, etc., have been rapidly emerging and developing in recent times. shows how important and promising the field of materials science is.
Students of the materials science major can learn in-depth the production processes, processing and manufacturing technologies of materials and work in various fields of industry (ceramics, glass, cement, plaster, lime, concrete, metallurgy, polymer materials, dry building materials production enterprises, as well as construction sites, etc.). they will have the opportunity to work in many positions. In addition, graduates of this specialty will be able to work as production process technologists, production managers, in relevant positions in research and design institutes, and after receiving scientific degrees, they will be able to work as teaching staff in universities.
It should be noted that a total of 1308 planned places have been allocated in 30 specialties at the bachelor's level of BMU. Of them, 795 places are intended for the Azerbaijani section, and 513 places for the English section. Majors included in the admission plan for the new academic year at the undergraduate level include International trade and logistics, Marketing, Communication systems engineering, Materials engineering, Mechatronics and robotics engineering.
