An international scientific conference is being held on September 16-20, 2019 on the 60th anniversary of the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory. The conference is attended by 70 scientists from 10 countries, including Azerbaijani scientists.

    Professor of Physics Department Ayyub Guliyev and PhD. candidate of the same department Hazi Gasimov represent BEU in this conference. On the first day of the conference, Professor Ayyub Guliyev’s report entitled “Hypothesis of the large planetary body on the periphery of the Solar System” was met with great interest by conference participant. In this research work, professor put forward hypotheses about the existence of 9th planet with a mass about 10 times that of Earth at a distance 350 a.d. Scientist’s research on long-term comets and mathematical calculations increase the assumption that the 9th planet is in the same region. It should be noted that this research work was published in 2019 as an article in a high-impact journal.
