Under the organization of the Center for Distance Education and Quality Assurance of Baku Engineering University (BEU),  trainings on “Quality Concept and Basic Principles of ISO 9001: 2015” have started. Thus, 3 trainings were organized for department heads, heads of administrative structures, laboratory assistants and tutors. 

Speaking at the opening of the event, Professor Hamzagha Orujov, BEU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, stressed the importance of the trainings and added that the event would make a positive contribution to the organization of the spring semester. In his speech, the Vice-Rector spoke about the main tasks ahead in the spring semester, lesson schedules, syllabi, and the provision of students with textbooks.

BEU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Bayram Huseynzada touched upon the issues of attendance and discipline. Noting the importance of strict compliance with the internal rules of the University, the requirements of the quarantine regime in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vice-Rector expressed his confidence that the trainings would have a positive impact on the overall work.

Speaking as a trainer, Sevil Imanova, Head of the Quality Assurance Department, said that the main goal was to improve the quality of education, management, system and process, and emphasized the importance of improvement process. Touching upon the quality of systematic steps taken to achieve the goals of education, the head of the department added that the difference between success and failure in education was the result of quality.

S.Imanova noted that one of the activities targeted by BEU in the strategic plan for 2020-2030 was the establishment of the ISO system. She informed the participants about the international standard and principles of ISO 9001: 2015.

Moreover, presentations were made on the mentioned topic in the trainings. Later, Gafar Ojagli, Chief Specialist of the Quality Assurance Department, and Huseyn Khalilov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Pedagogy, psychologist, took the floor on "Duties of tutors" and "Code of conduct and courtesy of laboratory assistants and tutors in relation to students”, accordingly. 

The questions of the participants were answered during the trainings.
