Seminar for young researchers held at BEU

Under the organization of Azerbaijan Young Scientists, Post-Graduates and Masters Union (AYSPMU), Baku Engineering University has hosted a seminar within the project entitled "Open Science Azerbaijan: Promotion of the Open Science Platform among Young Researchers."

Speaking at the seminar, a member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Education, chairperson of AYSPMU, Doctor of Philosophy Ilgar Orujov said that BEU was one of the leading educational institutions and added that along with teaching at the University, scientific research was also carried out at a high level.

I.Orujov provided the participants with the necessary information about the organization and the project he represented. Relevant seminars will be organized for researchers working in the regions within the project. At the end of the project, 25 people will be selected from each university and will be trained with the participation of an expert from the European Council of Young Scientists.

At the seminar, AYSPMU expert, Doctor of Philosophy Sevinj Adilova made a presentation on “Open research materials. Indices and Databases.” She touched upon that Open Science promoted the practice of conducting scientific research in a completely transparent manner and conveyed the results of scientific research to everyone.

BEU Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Associate Professor Elchin Suleymanov spoke about the importance of the seminar for young researchers. He pointed out that BEU held events every February as part of “Science Week”.

Later, the Vice-Rector made a presentation on "BEU's research activities" and gave detailed information about research works, international and national scientific conferences, projects, as well as about articles published in scientific journals indexed in prestigious international databases.

Emphasizing the importance of research for the University, the Vice-Rector noted that BEU was included in Great Britain’s QS World University Rankings of developing countries in Europe and Central Asia for 2022.

The event continued with answering the questions of the participants.

At the end, the participants were awarded certificates for their participation in the seminar.
