A reporting meeting of the Trade Union Committee (TUC) of Baku Engineering University (BEU) has been held.

The report of Hazi Gasimov, the chairperson of BEU TUC, was heard at the meeting. Speaking about the activities of the committee, H. Gasimov emphasized that the organization helped strengthening the social protection of the staff, and effectively arranged their leisure time activities and participation in cultural events. He provided detailed information on the work done by BEU TUC during the reporting period (2020-2021). Furthermore, Hazi Gasimov added that a summer vacation was organized for employees and they were sent to a sanatorium for treatment.

The report also touched upon the shopping cards presented to the University employees on Novruz holiday and the financial support provided to the employees, veterans and family members of martyrs in connection with the pandemic and on the occasion of June 26 - Armed Forces Day. During the Patriotic War, BEU TUC also made donations to the Armed Forces Relief Fund and Karabakh Revival Fund.

Speaking at the event, BEU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Bayram Huseynzada pointed out the significance and expanding role of TUC. The Vice-Rector said that the committee played an important bridging role between the university staff and its administration in resolving certain social issues, as well as in protecting their rights. He highly appreciated the transparent operation of the committee and thanked the chairperson.

Later, the budget of BEU Trade Union Committee for 2022 was approved by voting.

The meeting ended with a wide-ranging discussion on the report and a number of proposals.
