The next educational event was held at the Technical and Natural Sciences Lyceum in Sumgayit within the framework of the Dual Degree Program implemented between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and INHA University of South Korea.
During the meeting with the lyceum students, BEU Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Manafaddin Namazov gave detailed information about the Departments of the University. Noting that BEU carried out training specialists in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, the Vice-Rector added that digital skills played a significant role in the above-mentioned specialties. M.Namazov also noted that a laboratory for "Mobile Applications and Game Design" had been established to increase the knowledge and skills of teachers involved in the teaching of information technology and related subjects, as well as students studying at BEU in this field.
M.Namazov emphasized a great need for need for power engineers, electrical and electronics engineers in connection with the reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories, and training highly qualified specialists in Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Electrical Engineering in accordance with the BEU-INHA Dual Degree Program.
Later, Director General of BEU-INHA Dual Degree Program Human Jafarli delivered a presentation. Underlining that BEU and INHA University implemented a dual degree program in engineering at the undergraduate level since the 2020/2021 academic year, H.Jafarli provided information about the program and the results achieved.
H.Jafarli added that world-famous companies were located in South Korea, touching upon the benefits of the program for students. She said that students would study for 3 years in Azerbaijan and 1 year in South Korea on the basis of a curriculum synchronized by both universities, and in the end would receive two diplomas. By pointing out the participation of students in a 3-week summer school in South Korea, as well as the opportunity to pursue their master's and doctoral studies there with scholarships, H.Jafarli mentioned that they would acquire modern knowledge and skills in the above-stated fields of engineering.
In her speech, H. Jafarli informed the students about the specialties, passing scores, admission quota, education language, admission conditions and application form of the program.
Speaking about INHA University, Hyunjin Yang, INHA Project Director of BEU-INHA DDP, underlined that the University was one of the leading engineering universities in South Korea. He spoke about the opportunities created by the program, fully funded by the state of Azerbaijan, and described it as a great opportunity for students. In his speech, INHA University, Hyunjin Yang, INHA Project Director of BEU-INHA DDP also highlighted the various scholarship programs at INHA University.
Rasim Suleymanov, the Deputy Director of Educational Affairs of lyceum, said that such meetings would help students' choice of specialty and university.
Afterwards, the questions of the students were answered.
A meeting with the director of the lyceum Ruxsara Mammadova was also held as part of the event, and the organization of such events, as well as the participation of high school students in the "Open Day" were discussed.
