The next meeting of the Student Trade Union Committee of Baku Engineering University (BEU) has been held. At the meeting, the request of STUC Chairperson Rayakhanim Aghazada to resign from her position at her own request and the issue of electing a new chairman to the Committee were considered.

Bayram Huseynzada, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs of BEU, noted the successful youth policy implemented in our country under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and informed about the measures taken in this direction and various state programs carried out. The Vice-Rector pointed out that young people had a great responsibility in the socio-political, socio-economic and cultural life of the society, as well as in the areas of management and civil society development. Highlighting the activity of STUC at BEU and the activity of students-youth, Bayram Huseynzade expressed his hope that the institution would establish its work more actively in the coming years and touched on the main tasks ahead.

Mirza Jafarzada, Deputy Chairman of the Republican Committee of Free Trade Union of Educators of Azerbaijan (FTUEA), also spoke about the support and care of the state in the direction of the comprehensive development of the country's youth. Citing the large-scale measures taken on the personal development of students and the arrangement of leisure time activities in the fields of education, science, socio-cultural, as well as vocational training, Mirza Jafarzada drew attention to the social activities of young people. The FTUEA official emphasized the obligations of Student Trade Union Committees in the direction of timely identification of talented and creative young people, development of their abilities, as well as promotion of high-achieving young people.

After the speeches, the application of Rayakhanim Aghazada, the chairperson of STUC, was accepted by voting. Furthermore, R. Aghazade was awarded the Honorary Decree of BEU Rector for her activity in the social life of the University.

According to the results of the subsequent voting, the chair of BEU Student Youth Organization Laman Sharifova was elected the new chairperson of STUC.

At the end, the Vice-Rector Bayram Huseynzade, Deputy Chairman of the Republic Committee of FTUEA Mirza Jafarzada wished success to the new chairperson of STUC in her future activities and gave their recommendations.
