Women's Council of Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Youth Union of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) have jointly organized An event on “Youth development in modern times in a gender context.”

Opening the event, the chairperson of BEU Women's Council Atraba Gul noted the work done in our country to ensure gender equality as an integral part of human rights and freedoms and the adopted legislation. She expressed her confidence that the organization of such an event would be useful for both university staff and students.

Stating the classification of genderç Kifayat Agayeva, associate professor of the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), touched upon that  its formation is influenced by social factors. Emphasizing the importance of biological and social roles that women and men played in society, K.Aghayeva added that social roles were more important than biological roles. 

Later, K.Aghayeva gave detailed information about the concept of feminism, the history of feminism and its world-famous types (liberal, Marxist, socialist and radical).

Irada Guliyeva, Senior Adviser of the Monitoring Department in the Supreme Court, spoke about the growing number of divorces in society and their causes and brought some cases encountered in the process of working.

The event continued in a question and answer format and with a wide exchange of views.

The meeting was also attended by Elnara Shahbaddinli, a lawyer of the Department of Deinstitutionalization and Child Protection of the Ministry of Education.
