The first international cooperation project between the Department of Foreign Languages of the Education Faculty of Baku Engineering University (BEU) and the Public Affairs Section of the US Embassy has been completed. Richard Pinkham, Cultural Affairs Officer of the US Embassy, Sabina Abdullayeva, Virtual English Program Manager, Elshad Abdullayev, Dean of the Education Faculty of BEU, Atraba Gul, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages and coordinator of the project at BEU, and the academic staff took part in the event held on this occasion.
It was noted that US citizen Michael Moak, a specialist in foreign language teaching and TESOL, gave training to teachers teaching English at BEU within the framework of the "Project based learning and critical pedagogy", "ESL Lesson structures and lesson planning", "TESOL Methodology", "Designing a Leading Professional Development Workshops and Professional Learning Networks” and other topics were held both online and offline. Within the framework of the two-semester training program, teachers learned the lessons through practical exercises in the directions of modern English language methodology, teaching techniques, and had the opportunity to apply them in their work.
The representatives of the embassy highly appreciated the teachers' participation in the trainings. The speakers congratulated all the teachers who participated in the training for successfully completing the program and expressed their confidence that cooperation with BEU would continue in the future.
Later, the project coordinator at BEU Atraba Gul, who made a special contribution to the successful implementation of the training program, was presented with a certificate of appreciation from the US Embassy. Furthermore, certificates were given to the teachers who successfully completed the training.
