An event dedicated to the results of scientific activities of the faculties in 2019, as well as the effective use of scientific resource bases has been organized by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the Baku Engineering University (BEU).

Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Associate Professor Elchin Suleymanov made a report on the research works carried out this year, international and national scientific conferences, projects, as well as articles published in scientific journals indexed in prestigious international databases. It was noted that scientific activity at BEU was carried out on the basis of faculties, departments, laboratories and other scientific structures in the form of fundamental, theoretical-methodological, pedagogical-methodological and applied research in various fields of science. Research work at the University is an integral part of the educational process, and the results of scientific works are taken into account during the selection and appointment of faculty.

E.Suleymanov noted that the number of articles published in BEU journals on impact factor last year exceeded the sum of publications in the last two years. He said that the Web of Science platform had a total of 56 publications, including 8 in 2017, 18 in 2018 and 30 in 2019, and 59 references to them. According to these indicators, BEU is in a leading position among Azerbaijani universities.

The Vice-Rector added that recently the University staff had published about 10 articles in the most authoritative scientific publications, such as Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews (Web Of Science Impact Factor 11.239), Journal Of Molecular Liquids IF 4.561, Environmental Science And Pollution Research IF 3.208, Applied Mathematical Modeling 3.112. In addition, the number of BEU employees who received awards for scientific publications in 2017 was 7, while in 2019 this figure increased to 30, and most of them are young researchers.

Then, the tasks ahead to further strengthen scientific activity were discussed at the event. Moreover, extensive discussions were held on the results of annual scientific activities, innovation activities, the implementation of research work, as well as the application of scientific results in the educational process and production.

Then, training on effective use of scientific bases subscribed by BEU was held.

At the end, employees who distinguished themselves with their scientific activities were presented letters of appreciation and souvenirs.
