Attending the semi-finals of the Enactus-2022 Azerbaijan National Competition in the III league with the project HyrdoGel, Enactus BEU team of Baku Engineering University (BEU) has been awarded the title of winner and qualified for the finals as one of the 6 teams. HydroGel project aims to prevent water loss and conserve water. The production of SAP (Super Absorbent Polymer), the basis of the project, is very useful for the agricultural sector in our country. Furthermore, the use of SAP allows farmers to save planting and irrigation time. This substance can reduce the risk of drought and wilting, which causes the plants to not be watered for a long time, prolonging the green period and flowering period.
As the Enactus BEU team, Narmin Dashdiyeva, Gulchin Seyidov, Sanam Imanova, students of Education Faculty, Ali Aghakishiyev, Shahin Mursalov Vahid Aghayev, Rufat Mammadov, Natavan Pashazada, Narmin Alasova, Sakinə Maharramova, students of Engineering Faculty, Raya Hamidli and Zarif Najafli, students of Economics and Administrative Sciences, participated in the HydroGel project. The mentor of the project for business affairs is Arif Najimov, the chief specialist of BEU Technopark, the mentors for scientific research affirs are Ravan Rahimov, associate professor of the Department of Chemical Engineering, and Narmin Ismayilova, a teacher of the Department of Chemistry and Biology.
The final round of the Enactus Azerbaijan competition will be held on July 18, 2022 at the Baku Congress Center. More information about Enactus Azerbaijan and student teams is available in the link www.enactus.az
