At the meeting, the preliminary results of the monitoring of the dual degree program (DDP) implemented between BEU and INHA University were discussed.
First, Min Kyung Jin, dean of the Project Group, delivered a report dedicated to the results of the monitoring that took place on December 4-6. Emphasizing that the initial results and impressions are generally positive, the head of the Project Group touched on the exams held in two areas (physics and mathematics subjects) for the purpose of evaluating the knowledge of students admitted to the BEU-INHA DDP in the 2022/2023 academic year. Min Kyung Jin expressed his gratitude to BEU administration and teaching staff for the work done to ensure quality education at the university.
Speaking about the diagnosis of the problems encountered during the implementation of the program, the guest said that among the issues raised by the students participating in the interview, the first place was the difficulties related to mastering the Korean language.
Rector Yagub Piriyev, who expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the monitoring group working productively in a short period of time, pointed out that more time was allocated to the teaching of the Korean language within the framework of the BEU-INHA DDP, however, the mentioned problem remains relevant. Talking about the current problems of teaching foreign languages, as well as emphasizing the issues of researching and applying more favorable teaching methods related to foreign language teaching, the rector gave his recommendations in the direction of forming fluency and opening language barriers. Moreover, he said that strengthening the integration of BEU students who are currently studying at INHA University with Korean students can be effective in the easy acquisition of the Korean language.
Yagub Piriyev expressed his hope that DDP students will contribute to the development of Azerbaijan and the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries after graduation.
