The international scientific-practical conference on "Azerbaijan in the international transport system: goals and perspectives" has started its work under the organization of Baku Engineering University (BEU).

At the event, the National Anthem was first played, and the dear memory of the martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Speaking at the opening speech at the conference, BEU vice-rector for scientific affairs Agasi Malikov spoke about the undeniable importance of transport in the economic development of the country, in increasing the military power, and in the development of the social life of the population. He mentioned that there is great interest in the second conference dedicated to the transport system at BEU, and that 60 scientific articles from 6 countries, including Azerbaijan, were included in the program of the conference. Agasi Malikov noted, "It is known that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will be held in Baku in November. Environmental protection poses a wide range of issues for transporters. It is encouraging that the conference included a large number of scientific articles related to the investigation of environmental problems of transport, reduction of environmental damage, transition to alternative energy in transport and sustainable transport". He also expressed his belief that the conference will contribute to the stimulation of scientific research in the field of transport.

Huseyn Mirzayev, the dean of the Faculty of Engineering of BEU, spoke about the transport and logistics projects implemented in our country today. He said that the new transport infrastructure built in the territories freed from occupation after the 44-day Patriotic War shows the economic strength of our country and the presence of specialists in this field.
