The summer exam session of the spring semester of the 2019/2020 academic year at Baku Engineering University (BEU) continues its work online.
The Rector of BEU, Professor Havar Mammadov watched the online exam session. The Rector reminded that in accordance with the current situation caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, distance education was organized online at BEU, and all the technical possibilities were created for this. The rector said that the vast majority of students were provided with access to the Google Classroom platform and involved in online education, and added that a total of 98% of the subjects were taught online.
Havar Mammadov touched upon the decision of the state to cover the tuition fees of students who were the members of families belonging to socially vulnerable groups this year, and said that the issue was under control and work was being done in this direction.
The Rector noted that all technical measures were taken at a high level in order to hold the spring exam session transparent and in accordance with existing rules. Havar Mammadov said that students who were dissatisfied with the results of the exam had the opportunity to apply online to the appeal commission established at the university. Expressing confidence that the students' knowledge would be evaluated objectively and impartially, the Rector answered the questions of all students participating in the exam and wished them success.
It should be noted that the exam session of the spring semester at BEU started on June 8 and will last for 5 weeks in the form of online tests and frontal surveys. Taking into account the current situation and the views of students, the rules for conducting exam sessions and knowledge assessment were developed in a timely manner and agreed with the Ministry of Education.
