Talented artist Tunzala Mammadzada, a lecturer at the Department of Architecture and Design at Baku Engineering University (BEU), has successfully defended her doctoral dissertation at the Institute of Turkic Studies of Marmara University in Turkey.
T.Mammadzadeh, who successfully defended her doctoral dissertation "Architect Joseph Plosco (1867-1931) in the process of modernization of Baku architecture" under the scientific guidance of Professor Fatma Nalan Turkmen at the above-mentioned Institute, was awarded PhD. in Art History.
The author of unusual architectural projects T.Mammadzada also worked on various architectural projects in Istanbul. The works of BEU lecturer, a member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, are protected th Copyright Agency of Republic of Azerbaijan. Her works have been exhibited in many individual and collective exhibitions, as well as are preserved in collections in many countries around the world.
T. Mammadzadeh is the first and only artist to create paintings on transparent silk, synthesizing decorative applied art with fine art. She completed her bachelor’s degree of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts and master’s degree of the Faculty of Fashion Design at Western University. Tunzala Mammadzada received her doctorate from the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts and studied the history of the Sheki handicraft Takalduz. She received a doctorate at the the Institute of Turkic Studies of Marmara University within the "Turkish Scholarships" program of the Turkish Prime Ministr.
Currently, the BEU teacher, continuing her work not only in painting but also in architecture, is working on the implementation of architectural projects of different designs. Until now, the artist has held a solo exhibition of his paintings on silk in Azerbaijan, Turkey and other countries, and also teaches a number of subjects related to her field at BEU.
Of note, the talented artist, who wrote the Holy Quran on silk, presented the book to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the “135th Anniversary of Marmara University Program.”
