Baku Engineering University (BEU) is one of the leading higher educational institutions in the country in terms of employment rates of its graduates. In recent years, about 85 percent of the University alumni have been provided with jobs. Some of the graduates continue their master's degrees in our country and abroad.

The need for quality staff in accordance with the requirements of the labor market is one of the important factors driving the development of cooperation between universities and enterprises. In order to establish close cooperation with influential local and foreign companies and government agencies, the University administration often holds business meetings with the heads of local and foreign companies, creates favorable conditions for students to practice in these institutions. During such meetings, agreements are reached on internships, employment, master classes, seminars and cooperation in various fields.

Authoritative private and public companies, appreciating the strict discipline, material and technical base, international level of education at the University, apply to BEU for cooperation. The selection of future staff of well-known private and public companies among BEU students is the most obvious example of the quality of education at the University.

It should be noted that the Department on work with enterprises and career of BEU has recently held numerous meetings with employees of the Human Resources Department of more than 70 local and foreign companies, and a number of activities have been carried out to provide graduates with jobs. Students are constantly informed about internship programs organized by local and international institutions, and their participation in these programs is provided. Moreover, to facilitate graduates’ job opportunities every year meetings, the aim of which is to deliver internship, scholarship, part-time job announcements of the companies directly to the students, are organized, as well as, the latest obtained information is digitized.

In recent years, BEU Department on work with enterprises and career has expanded its scope of activities. As one of them, the department is establishing closer ties with graduates in the country and abroad. It should be noted that BEU alumni currently work in many countries around the world (USA, Canada, Colombia, Russia, Germany, Australia, Sudan, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, England, Sweden, Italy, Mexico, Kazakhstan, Japan, Turkey, etc.). Graduates receive information about the latest innovations, activities, vacancies, events and seminars at the University via “ Alumni Gmail Group” of the Department. Unemployed graduates are often contacted and notified of new jobs and vacancies.

In the near future, it is planned to further improve the mechanism of communication with graduates. Thus, it is planned to establish the Alumni Association and Alumni Platform, develop a system of systematic communication with honorary graduates, invite them to significant events and create electronic databases. The purpose of the association is to establish closer ties with BEU alumni, regardless of their location, hold regular meetings, bring graduates together from around the world, as well as to help them develop entrepreneurship, business, scientific and creative activities.
