BEU holds the next orientation meetings with freshmen

The next orientation meetings have been held with freshmen admitted to the bachelor's degree of Baku Engineering University (BEU).

The first-year students were extensively informed about the University life, online classes, etc. at the meeting organized for students of the Departments of Business Administraton and Economics of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. 

Congratulating the first-year students, the head of the Department of Business Administration, PhD. in Economics, Assoc.prof. Nasimi Kamalov spoke about the specialties of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the subjects to be taught in Business Administration Department. He emphasized that in addition to the bachelor's degree, BEU offered master's degree and MBA programs. Noting the opportunities for students to pursue their education at BEU, the head of the department also touched upon their career prospects.

Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Associate Professor Mayis Azizov wished the students success in their studies. The dean noted that unlike other universities BEU functioned as an e-university before the pandemic, and now this work is further improved.

Farid Jabiyev, Deputy Dean for Scientific Affairs of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, made a presentation on joining online classes, Student Information System (SIS), and lesson registration.

Head of the Department of World Economy, Ph.D. Shahriyar Mukhtarov provided information on the organization of distance education in the current pandemic, and also introduced responsible employees of the department to students. 

The next meeting during the day was organized for students of the Departments of Mathematics and Physics Education of Education Faculty. Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Seyran Gayibov spoke about the history of BEU. 

At the end, video about the University was demonstrated. 

Dean of Education Faculty, Associate Professor Elshad Abdullayev congratulated the students. He introduced Fidan Ismayilzade, who scored the highest point at the Department of Mathematics Education. (616.30 points).

Head of the Department of Mathematics, Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, Assoc. Prof. Rakib Afandiyev introduced the responsible employees of the department to the students. He spoke about the advantages of studying in English and the work perspectives of students majoring in mathematics teaching. Noting that there was a great need for English-speaking staff, the head of the department added that 7 of our students had an internship at Landau School in the last academic year and those graduates are currently working there.

The head of Physics Department, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Baba Gasimov, teacher of Mathematics and Informatics Department Elmaddin Huseynov made speeches at the meeting. 

Students who got acquainted with the computer laboratory were also informed about BEU Student Information System (SIS) and its use, and the registration of lessons.
