Vice-Rector for International Relations of Baku Engineering University (BEU), Associate Professor Manafaddin Namazov, Head of Foreign Relations and Project Management Arif Najimov, Head of Computer and Information Technology Department, Associate Professor Babek Abbasov have attended online conference of the Erasmus + KA2 project entitled “Development of Master Applications for Mobile Applications and Game Design (MAGnUS) at Partner Universities”, funded by EU, and led by Linkopings University.
Professor Janerik Lundquist, an employee of Linkopings University in Sweden and head of the current project, introduced the agenda to the participants.
Later, the analysis of the results of the project during 2019, the tasks and responsibilities for 2020, the list of equipment to be purchased for partner universities, as well as the works to be done by each partner after the COVID-19 pandemic were discussed in detail. Associate professors M.Namazov and A.Najimov also made various proposals during the discussions.
Associate Professor B.Abbasov informed about the preparation of the curriculum and training materials "Mobile applications and game design master's programs" prepared within the project at BEU and answered the questions of European experts in detail.
Employees of University of Derby, Polytechnic Institute of Tomar , Tallinn University , Southern Federal University, Astrakhan State University and Voronezh State University, as well as other higher education institutions of Azerbaijan (BSU and ASOIU) took an active part in the meeting.
It should be noted that the aim of the current project is to improve the quality of Information Technology (IT) education and and increase the employment of IT graduates by developing a master's program "Mobile applications and game design in partner universities" in accordance with the Bologna principles and modern requirements for the universities from non-EU universities, such as Azerbaijan and Russia as partners. The current project also envisaged increasing the knowledge and skills of IT teachers at partner universities and establishing a laboratory that meets modern requirements.
