Head of Mathematics Department of Baku Engineering University (BEU), Doctor of Mathematical Sciences Rakib Afandiyev has participated online in the international conference on mathematical sciences. The event was organized by the Department of Mathematics of Karachi University of Pakistan and Karachi Mathematical Association.

Doctor of Mathematical Sciences Rakib Afandiyev gave a speech at the conference entitled "Spectral analysis of a set of non-self-adjoint operators with a class of generalized functions". The report was received with great interest by the event participants.

Other scientific reports on the topic were listened to and a wide exchange of ideas was held at the conference.

Of note, BEU and higher education institutions of Pakistan have close cooperation relations. Within the framework of this cooperation, a memorandum of understanding was signed between BEU and Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology of Pakistan (Karachi). In accordance with the document, the Mathematics departments of the mentioned universities organized the first international online scientific seminar called "Frontiers in Mathematics" last year.
