An article co-authored by PhD. in Economics Fuzuli Aliyev, Head of Finance Department at BEU, Richard Ajayi, Professor of the University of Central Florida and others has been published in “The Journal of Economic Asymmetries” with Scopus index.
The asymmetric dynamics of income of The Nasdaq-100 index, one of the most influential stock indices on the world stock exchange, with nonlinear models was studied in the article named “Modelling asymmetric market volatility with univariate GARCH models: Evidence from Nasdaq-100. As a result of the study of daily index data from 2000 to 2019, the authors found that volatility shocks were persistent in this index gains, the effect of shocks was asymmetric (ie the effect of negative shocks is greater than the effect of positive shocks of the same size). The results of the study will help investors who invest in this index to take the appropriate position. The authors also proposed to study the volatility of commodity exchange indices based on the results of these studies.
It should be noted that “The Journal of Economic Asymmetries” is indexed in the Scopus database and has a reference score of 1.3. Article of BEU scientist is one of articles in Azerbaijan published in the "Economics, Econometrics and Finance" category.
