9 oktyabr 2026
A seminar for faculty and young researchers was held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) with the participation of Professor Hakan Yalçıner of Türkiye's Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University.
Organized within the framework of UN Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), the seminar was dedicated to the topic "Academic Digital Transformation in Universities, Management of Academic Activity, Open Access, and the Crossref DOI Ecosystem: The Example of RDL (Raw Data Library)."
At the seminar, Professor Hakan Yalçıner provided information on the digitalization of academic activity, the management of scientific data, the principles of open access, and the capabilities of the Crossref DOI ecosystem. He noted that it is important for universities to collect and systematize scientific data within a unified digital ecosystem and to integrate it into international academic platforms.
Hakan Yalçıner spoke about opportunities for indexing dissertations prepared at the master's and doctoral levels, recording citation indicators, and increasing the accessibility of research results on international academic platforms. He also touched on issues related to transferring information about scientific publications and research results to the databases used in international university rankings.
During the event, examples were presented on the Crossref and ORCID systems, their role in identifying academic publications and researchers, as well as opportunities for searching for and accessing scientific articles on international academic platforms. In addition, systems for submitting and tracking scientific publications, statistical indicator dashboards, and the digitization of previously prepared dissertations and their inclusion in library collections were discussed.
In the interactive event, participants' questions were answered and views were exchanged on the topic.
