BEU and “MetaWay” Sign Memorandum of Understanding

A memorandum of understanding on cooperation has been signed between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and “MetaWay” LLC.

The memorandum defines the general framework for cooperation in scientific research, publishing activities, academic events, and joint projects. The document covers areas such as improving the quality of scientific outcomes, expanding the publication of articles in international journals, and indexing publications in reputable scientometric databases.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of the university, Agasi Malikov, stated that expanding academic and scientific cooperation is one of the key priorities of the higher education institution. The vice-rector expressed confidence that the signed memorandum will have a positive impact on improving the quality of scientific results, increasing the publication of research articles in international journals, and ensuring the indexing of university publications in reputable scientometric databases, while also bringing mutual benefits to both parties.

Director of “MetaWay” LLC, Mehriban Malikova, noted in her remarks that the company she leads implements various scientific projects with the participation of foreign scientists and technologists. She emphasized that such international collaborations, along with the application of artificial intelligence technologies, play an important role in the development of the innovation ecosystem and contribute to enhancing the quality of scientific activity.

It was noted that within the framework of the memorandum, not only university journals but also the company’s scientific publications are envisaged to be developed. The parties will jointly work to improve the quality of scientific articles and ensure their indexing in international scientometric databases, including Scopus.

The event also highlighted that such partnerships create broad opportunities for students. Students can prepare articles for scientific journals and participate in the technical editorial process, enabling them to gain valuable experience for their future careers.

It should be noted that “MetaWay” LLC is a technology company specializing in scientific research projects (Global Research Project), the organization of international conferences, and the application of artificial intelligence. The company offers innovative solutions and CRM platforms and implements projects in the field of artificial intelligence. There is already existing practice of organizing joint events with BEU on the application of artificial intelligence in foreign language teaching.

This cooperation aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), in terms of expanding access to quality education for students, promoting innovation-driven scientific activities, and strengthening institutional partnerships.
