The first "My Technology" competition, organized by Baku Engineering University (BEU), State Agency for Preschool and General Education, "STEAM Azerbaijan", as well as partnership of "Yeni Fikir" LLC, sponsored by "Kapital Bank", has ended.
In order to organize the final stage of the competition, an exhibition of applicants' startup projects and an award ceremony were held at BEU. 30 projects displayed at the exhibition were selected from among 140 projects submitted to the competition. During the exhibition, the teams presented their startup ideas to the jury and guests. Yagub Piriyev, rector of BEU, got acquainted with the projects, was interested in the future plans of young startups and gave them his recommendations.
Later, the evaluation of school students' startup projects by the jury began. "The Right Way" (Guba-Khachmaz region) won the 1st place, "CO2toD project" (Absheron-Khizi region) the 2nd place, "SpecDeaf" (Absheron-Khizi region) the 3rd place, "Trinity" Panel" (Guba-Khachmaz) the 4th place and "GreenExchange" (Nakhchivan MR) the 5th place.
Speaking at the awarding part of the event, Rector Yagub Piriyev highly appreciated the interest of teenagers and young people in technological innovations, emphasizing that he has great confidence in the future of students who are active in startup projects. Talking about the specialties of the modern era and the growing demand for these specialties, he noted the conditions created for excellent teaching of "Information technologies" and "Computer engineering" specialties at BEU, as well as modern laboratories. The Rector wished the students who are interested in technological ideas success in their future projects.
The director of BEU Technopark Isa Gasimov gave information about "My Technology", mentioning that the project covered Absheron-Khizi, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Ganja-Dashkasan, Nagorno-Shirvan and Guba-Khachmaz regions. The competition, attended by 10-11th grade students, aims to contribute to the formation and development of the innovation ecosystem, promote and support the development of entrepreneurial-minded human capital in accordance with the requirements and expectations of the knowledge economy. It was also pointed out that the project is planned to be held nationwide in the coming years.
Aygun Musayeva, Director of the Talent Management Department of Kapital Bank, expressed her positive opinion about the project. Touching on the advantages of the university as a BEU graduate, the bank official spoke about the cooperation between "Kapital Bank" and the university, and the support given to the educational process.
At the end, certificates and valuable gifts from "Kapital Bank" were presented to the winning teams.
