Event Titled "Modern Azerbaijan in the Light of the Ideas of National Leader Heydar Aliyev" Held

An event titled "Modern Azerbaijan in the Light of the Ideas of National Leader Heydar Aliyev," dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev, was held at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), organized jointly by the Department of Organization of General Subjects Teaching and the General Subjects Department of Baku Engineering University (BEU).

 

The event opened with the screening of a short film entitled "A Life Turned into a Torch," dedicated to the life and legacy of the National Leader.

 

In her address, Gulnara Rzayeva, Director of UNEC's Department of Organization of General Subjects Teaching and Associate Professor, spoke about Heydar Aliyev's rich political legacy and his exceptional role in the development of Azerbaijan. She noted that the solid foundation for our country's comprehensive development was laid as a result of the National Leader's far-sighted policies, and that the strategic course he charted is today being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, serving the further strengthening of Azerbaijan.

 

Humeyra Mustafayeva, Head of BEU's General Subjects Department and Associate Professor, emphasized Heydar Aliyev's unparalleled contributions to the consolidation of Azerbaijan's independence, the formation of statehood traditions, and the development of democratic values. She stated that the ideological and political course established by the National Leader retains its relevance to this day and continues to serve as an important guiding force for future generations.

 

The event also featured addresses by BEU Professor Shikar Gasimov, Head of the Humanities Department at UNEC and Professor Vakil Hasanov, Associate Professor Khadija Abbasli, and Associate Professors of the Azerbaijani Language Department Chinara Gahramanova, Matanat Amrahova, and Gunal Safarli. The speakers drew attention to National Leader Heydar Aliyev's contributions to the building of a democratic and law-governed state, as well as the significant work he accomplished in the areas of language policy and the formation of national identity.

 

Within the framework of the event, Aysu Rzayeva, a student of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, and Fariz Abdulazimov, a student of the International School of Economics, recited poems dedicated to National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
