Seminar and Open Lesson on Ergonomic Approaches in Architecture Held at BEU

A seminar and open lesson dedicated to ergonomic and sensory approaches in modern architecture were organized at Baku Engineering University (BEU) with the participation of fourth-year students of the "Architecture" specialization.

BEU Associate Professor and instructor of the "Architecture Ergonomics" course, Arzu Mammadova, delivered a presentation, highlighting students' research and analyses on ergonomics in modern architecture, sensory perception of space, and human-space relationships. It was noted that this direction is currently relevant for our country in terms of modern urban planning and architectural practice.

Subsequently, students presented their work prepared within the framework of the "Architecture Ergonomics" course. The presentations extensively discussed factors that shape the spirit of space in the context of architecture and urban planning, and how the distinctive character of cities strengthens the emotional connection between people and that space. It was noted that after visual aesthetics, elements that bring space to life, breathe into it, and touch human feelings hold special significance for architects and designers.

The future architects also touched upon topical issues discussed within the framework of COP29, an international event held in our country last year, and emphasized the importance of sustainable, ecologically-oriented architecture.

At the end, teachers and students held extensive discussions on the sensory aspect of architecture, the emotional effects that space creates on humans, and modern architectural approaches.
