June 1, 2026
The next meeting of the Steering Committee for the international joint degree programme (BEU-INHA DDP) implemented between Baku Engineering University and INHA University has been held in the Republic of Korea (South).
Addressing the meeting, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev highlighted the work carried out within the framework of the programme over the preceding period. Recalling that the BEU-INHA DDP has been implemented since 2020 under the "State Programme for Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019–2023," the Rector noted that the programme's implementation period has been extended until 2030 by a relevant decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev last year. It was noted that this demonstrates the continuity of strategic objectives aimed at strengthening the country's modern and innovative human capital potential, as well as expanding the international cooperation opportunities of higher education institutions.
Stating that 114 students are currently continuing their studies in the 4th year at INHA University under the DDP, Yagub Piriyev touched upon the challenges faced by students, the organisation of education, and matters relating to the upcoming graduation cohort, emphasising the necessity of initiating practical measures toward their resolution.
Subsequently, BEU-INHA DDP Director Humay Jafarli delivered a detailed presentation on the items included in the meeting's agenda. The presentation provided Steering Committee members with information on the financial report for the previous year, the 2026 admissions schedule, TOPIK test results, a discussion of students with special circumstances, academic outcomes for the autumn semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, planned activities for the 2026 calendar year, as well as the second phase of the agreement.
Also addressing the meeting were BEU Vice-Rector for International Relations Atraba Gul, Vice-Rector for Financial and Economic Affairs Mikayil Zeynalov, and Nijat Mammadli, Chairman of the Board of the Education Development Fund.
Qadir Khalilov, Head of the State Programme Management Group, and Ayten Shadlinskaya, Project Manager for Joint Degree Programmes, participated in the meeting online and joined the discussions.
Following further remarks and discussions, the relevant decisions were adopted.

The programme currently provides training in the specialisations of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence Engineering), Data Analytics (Data Science), Information Technologies, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
