BEU Represented at the Meeting of the National Food Technologies Platform in Türkiye

The 6th meeting of the Azerbaijan National Food Technologies Platform was held at Hacettepe University in Türkiye.
Representatives of several leading higher education institutions of Azerbaijan participated in the meeting of the platform, which was established to strengthen university–industry cooperation in the fields of the food industry, food engineering and food technologies, promote innovative scientific research, and develop education–production integration.
Baku Engineering University (BEU) was represented at the event by Head of the Department of Food and Biotechnology, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Ravan Rahimov.
Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held between the Azerbaijani delegation and Prof. Dr. Ali Topcu, Head of the Food Engineering Program at Hacettepe University. During the meeting, opportunities for scientific research and academic cooperation in the fields of food engineering and biotechnology were discussed.
At the platform meeting, a presentation was delivered on the structure of the Food Engineering Program at Hacettepe University, the educational process, scientific research areas, and opportunities for international cooperation.
Participants also became familiar with the university’s scientific research laboratories. Detailed information was provided on ongoing topical scientific research, implemented national and international projects, doctoral and dissertation studies, and modern analytical and technological equipment, innovative scientific approaches, and research methods were demonstrated.
Within the framework of the event, an exchange of views was held with prominent scholars and professors of Hacettepe University — S. Aykut Aytaç, İsmail Hakkı Boyacı, Vural Gökmen, Z. Yeşim Özbaş and Ali Topcu — regarding possible joint projects in the field of scientific research, as well as partnership prospects.
The visit is of great importance in terms of strengthening scientific cooperation between Azerbaijani and Turkish universities in the fields of food technologies and biotechnology, increasing the exchange of experience, and shaping future joint initiatives.
