BEU Students Participate in Educational Field Trip

Second-year students majoring in Food Engineering at Baku Engineering University (BEU) participated in an educational field trip to the dairy plant of Milla Dairy LLC, organized by the University's Corporate Relations and Career Center.

During the event, students gained firsthand familiarity with the production processes of milk and dairy products at the facility. They took part in the process from the milk reception stage through transportation, primary processing, cooling methods, and the storage and packaging of chilled milk, cottage cheese, and butter.

Students also toured the plant's laboratory, where they observed firsthand how products are tested under these conditions, including the microbiological characteristics of milk, the determination of fat and sugar content, as well as milk density, acidity, heat capacity, and other physicochemical properties. The topic of cooling and storage of milk and dairy products — covered within the course "Refrigeration Technology of Food Products," taught by Arshad Guliyev, Associate Professor at BEU's Department of Food and Biotechnology — was explained in detail through practical, real-world examples. This provided students with an opportunity to reinforce their theoretical knowledge in a hands-on learning environment.

Such events also make a significant contribution to shaping future food engineers into more knowledgeable and skilled professionals in the fields of food safety and quality management.

It should be noted that the educational field trip was organized within the framework of promoting the 4th (Quality Education) and 9th (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
