BEU Students Participate in Selection Round of Artistic Creativity Competition

Students of Baku Engineering University (BEU) took part in the selection round of an artistic creativity competition-festival dedicated to the 103rd birth anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, held among students of higher education institutions.

Organized annually by the Ministry of Science and Education and the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers, the competition serves to broaden students' creative potential, develop their artistic and aesthetic sensibilities, strengthen their attachment to national and moral values, and identify talented youth.

In this year's selection round, BEU students took to the stage with artistic recitations and musical performances under the guidance of Zamina Akhundova, Head of the University's Artistic Creativity Division and Doctor of Philosophy in Art Studies. The university's dance amateur performance ensemble also showcased various dance numbers under the direction of artistic director Sabina Musayeva.

The performances were evaluated by a jury comprising People's Artist Samir Jafarov, soloist of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre; People's Artist Gulyanag Mammadova; People's Artist Tarana Muradova, Vice-Rector of the Baku Choreography Academy; Honored Art Worker, poet and publicist Baba Vaziroghlu; Honored Artist and founder of the "Rast" Group Rashad Hashimov; and Hafiz Guliyev, Chief Director of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and Honored Art Worker.

Performers who successfully advance through the stages of the competition-festival will earn the right to participate in the final concert program.

The winners of the festival-competition will be determined based on the results of the final concert.
